Background to 1960's Music

Following the Rock and Roll baby boom era of the 1950s, the Western world was experiencing some fast and exciting changes. With steady economic growth and optimism at an all-time high, teenagers were more liberated then they had ever been and with more cash to spend, young people were becoming more fashion conscious and for the first time had money to spend on cars, motorcycles, scooters and of course all things related to music. In Britain's port cities such and Liverpool, Newcastle and London, youths were buying guitars, drums, public address equipment and in trying to emulate their American peers were making records to sell around the world by the millions. Many of those bands are still around today and it is with these that Steve can be heard playing hits and rarities incorporating many styles such as Beat, Soul, Ska and Pop.
