Background to Swing Jive.
‘Swing Jive’ is a style of music and dance that originated among African–Americans in the early 1940s and Jive is a lively uninhibited variation of The Jitterbug, a form of Swing dance. However, all forms of related and unrelated music and dance styles can be seen and heard here including The Charleston, Balboa, Lindy Hop, Big Band Swing, Western Swing, Rhythm and Blues, early 1950s Rock and Roll, Stroll, Bop and Modern Jive. Whether you dance or not, the coming together of all these different styles makes each event very special with no two the same where today's best musicians and dancers congregate to have fun!
